Let’s be honest. 2016 has been… intense.
The good news is that it’s almost over.
The bad news is, we still have to get through the holiday season. And judging by how it’s gone so far, can we trust 2016 to leave us in peace for six more weeks?
I’m betting, probably not.
It’s been hard to find the positive. The reassurance that we’re truly going to be okay.
Which is why (or partly why, anyway) we have our dogs. They calm us down. They snuggle up to us when we’re feeling sad.
Giving your love to others is a most powerful salve. And our furry BFF’s give us the opportunity to do just that, over and over again.
How can we ever thank them for that?

1) Boxers are the best. 2) Remember what Christmas morning was like when you were a little kid? 3) Animals on trampolines.
13 Dogs and 1 Cat Eating with Human Hands

A preschool class, a retirement community, and a strength training gym are surprised with a wagon full of puppies.
It’s so sweet to see how different age groups react to puppies (basically we all turn into three year olds). Oh and for every view this video gets, one pound of dog food gets donated to animal shelters.
12 Inspiring Dog Rescue Transformations
I watched a few of these videos to make sure I chose the best one for you. After taking an extended cry break, I picked this one because a) it’s short, and b) it was the only one that left me emotionally stable enough to keep working.
(And yes, watching dog videos is now part of my job.)

The Clydesdales get you every time, right?
In this one, they rescue a fluffy little Labrador pup. Grab a tissue.
I should’ve taken my own advice — the only animal I have to hug is a frisky cat who just stole my last hair tie.
I think we need a bonus video to make us laugh.
This should do the trick:
